NCSLA Spring Summit for Science/STEM Education Leadership

IMG 7856The NCSLA Spring Membership Meeting was held in Raleigh on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the James Hunt Library in Raleigh.

The meeting brought science and STEM educators leaders from across the state to network, celebrate, support, lead, and advocate for science/STEM leadership at the school, district, regional, and state levels. This meeting in particular looked at the state of science/STEM leadership in North Carolina, established a baseline to know what people and organizations are doing to provide leadership opportunities to stakeholders in science/STEM education, and shared ideas and strategies to strengthen science/STEM leadership across the state.

NCSLA/NCSTA Hurricane Matthew Make a Wish Donations

NCSLA and NCSTA will be sponsoring a relief drive for our North Carolina science educators who were hit hard by Hurricane Matthew. We are asking our members to donate teacher supplies at the Professional Develop Institute, October 19-21, 2016, at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
Listed below are ways you can make a difference to a science educator in NC.  Please bring any of the items listed below to the PDI next week.  Collection bins will be set up near the registration desk at both NCSLA and NCSTA to place donated items.  Teachers affected by Hurricane Matthew can fill out an application at the NSTA/NCSTA/NCSLA booth in the exhibit hall and get needed supplies there.

Please tape a business card on your donations if you would like to hear from the teacher that chose your donation to use in the classroom.  Blank thank you cards will be available to all recipients to write a special note to the donor.
