Meet the Board: Ann McClung

mcclungMy name is Ann McClung, and I am a science teacher and department chair at South Central High School in Winterville, NC. I am a proud graduate of East Carolina University with a BS and a MAEd in Math and Science Education. Go Pirates! I have taught both middle school and high school for the past 25 years. This has included work with college interns from East Carolina University for the past 18 years. I have been an active leader in a number of extracurricular competitions throughout my career, including Science Olympiad, Envirothon, and most recently FIRST Robotics competition.

I am passionate about science and am committed at the local and state level. In 2003 I served as President of the North Carolina Science Teachers Association as well as Secretary. At this time I am the liaison between NCSTA and NSTA for the organization.

I am honored to be a Director-at-Large board member for NCSLA. I will work hard to inform our administrators, community leaders, and science teachers the importance of science reform and putting STEM first in the classroom.
