NSELA Update

NewNselaLogo2Join us for history making as the NSELA hosts its 2013 Summer Leadership Institute in historic Williamsburg and we delve into the history making Next Generation Science Standards. The June 25-28 Institute will focus on the science and engineering practices, developing and using models, engaging in argument from evidence, assessment, and analyzing and developing a professional development framework. Presenters include Harold Pratt, Brian Hand, Lori Norton-Meier, Brian Reiser, Martin Storksdieck, and Stephen Pruitt. Registration availble until June 12.

NSELA is currently conducting a search for an Executive Director. The organization is seeking an executive director who will lead, cultivate, and implement strategic objectives as the organization continues to make a difference in the lives of science educators and their students.

Candidates should have a minimum of six years of relevant executive- or senior-level experience in an organization or association, education-related entity or foundation and have interest or experience in and/or understanding of the field of science education. A Masters or Doctorate in science education, education, or a related field is recommended; and being a Certified Association Executive is an asset. Candidates must have strong communication, analytical, financial, fundraising, and entrepreneurial skills, as well as the ability to foster strong and engaged relationships with the board and members.
