WayneJump2A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” John C. Maxwell

Summer is a time for many people in our organization to relax and reflect on what it is that they do to support science initiatives and programs in North Carolina.

Between vacations, the NCSLA Executive Director, the Presidential Chain, Board of Directors, and Committee Chairs will collaborate to examine ways we can work together to create a buzz about science leadership in North Carolina.

For example, we are busy planning the Fall Membership Meeting to focus on sharing research that will help science leaders implement programs and strategies to integrate science and literacy.

Our Committee Chairs are also working hard to align committee work with our new vision and mission statements.

NCSLA's vision is to engage in authentic networking, celebrate science educators, support emerging science education leaders and advocate innovative practice in North Carolina.

NCSLA's mission is to provide opportunities for leaders in both formal and informal science education by offering a forum to exchange ideas and information, advancing quality STEM instruction, and influencing education policies and legislation.

All of this work cannot be done without your support!   I encourage you to become active in NCSLA by signing up for a committee or nominate a colleague for an award!
