webbCongratulations to Andi Webb! She was named to the newest Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching cohort for the state of North Carolina! Andi is a part of the 2020-2022 NCSLA Leadership Fellows cohort. In addition, Andi will receive her doctorate from East Carolina University this May.

Andi has traveled to 48 countries on six continents. She has been on expeditions to both the Arctic region and the Antarctic within about 5 years of one another. In 2018 she was at the northernmost part of the Earth studying soils and then in March 2022 she was in Antarctica with the 2041 ClimateForce Antarctic Expedition where she learned all about climate change and saw lots of penguins, seals, and whales!

This past year Andi not only has managed to go to the Antarctic but also to hold down a full-time job, complete her doctorate, and complete her EE certification. She is also National Board Certified.

In addition, Andi served as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Washington D.C. and a Fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor from September 2018 – July 2019. She received the prestigious CASMT Award from Burroughs Wellcome Fund to provide Singapore math to her students in Fayetteville and was able to travel to Singapore to learn about the program.
